Happenings in my Home

We have a lot of things going on at my house. First of all as you are all aware we are trying to finish up Jett's room. That project is coming along pretty well. When the baby comes at the end of the summer my office will be turning into a nursery.

While technically this room could be considered ready for a baby girl to move right in I am feeling an urge to do something different. The problem is I just don't know what! I feel all this pressure with this room for some reason. What if this is the only girl I ever have and the only girl nursery I get to do in my home? I just want it to be extra special but I don't really know the direction I'm going to head in yet.

See even designers get stumped sometimes!

We have also begun the process of finishing our basement.

Here it is in it's current state.

Pretty exciting huh?

Basically we'll have a t.v./playroom and that back bedroom will be my new office. So now I have a basement and office to decorate somehow. It's really a lot to take on right now especially while juggling my own clients and trying to do this all before the baby comes at the end of the Summer!

Stay tuned to see progress with all of these spaces. Let's hope I get it figured out!

  8. Very exciting!! That basement is going to be great. Hopefully you won't feel too much pressure! I know I would too. But remember sometimes things have to happen in there own time. I'm sure when your body goes into nesting mode you will get so much accomplished :) I always love that part!

  11. You will definitely figure it all out and do it very well! Finishing the basement is so exciting. We have that on our list too! It will add so much more square footage of living space. I bet it will feel as if you added an addition to the house! I love that you have so much light down there, too. It won't feel like a basement when it's finished!

  17. Oh no! Now I'm concerned my girl will be my only girl and I did her nursery blue!! Oh well, at least most of it will work well with a boy. Its economical. Can't wait to see what you do!!

  18. If you all don't mind, I would love some support to make the family room in the basement a bit of a man cave! It will have surround sound and I have some very large, and very awesome, aviation movie posters I want on the wall. I know, I know, not the prettiest idea but I think I deserve a small piece of space in the home don't you? Love, the husband ;)

  20. You'll get it figured out. Don't stress- just let the inspiration come when it comes and if it's not done by the time she's here that's alright. It will all be beautiful I'm sure. Good luck!

  25. It is quite challenging to transform an office into a nursery. Although I do agree that the room is almost all-set for a baby. It already looks like a stimulating environment. You can add nursery essentials like a changing table and ottoman to give it more of that nursery feel. I’m pretty sure you can design a structured environment for your baby. Congrats in advance! :D
