Welcome Sarah Jane Studios & Giveaway

I have been such a long time fan of Sarah Jane Studios.  Sarah Jane is a mother of 3 young children, and she creates designs that remind us all of the charming life of childhood.  Here is a little blurb from her website:

"My shop was created in an effort to create art I wasn’t seeing in the comeback of vintage inspired design: Art and paper products for children which reflected the vintage storybook feel, but with fresh color and modern design. Sarah Jane Studios was born October 2007, and has grown from a one-woman operation in my bedroom, to a 4 person operation with retailers worldwide."

Sarah Jane has a background in children book illustrating and brings that talent to each of her precious prints.

She also creates lots of other adorable items like gift tags, invites, lists, family trees and paper dolls!

I adore this "Just Stay Little" card.  So Sweet.

Her work is so lovely and makes me happy and blissful.  Sarah Jane was wonderful enough to offer this sweet "Three Bears revisited" print for a giveaway! It would look so cute anywhere in your home or it would make  a great gift.

Feature Friday: Lime in the Coconut

Linda, of the blog Lime in the Coconut, has such a unique style that shows in her Florida home.

It is tropical and fresh with a touch of whimsy.

How cool is that German educational poster in the Family Room.

Awesome upholstered chair

What clever little hooks and she bought the house numbers for the baskets in Argentina!

Lots of fun maps, globes and plants!

Such an amazing credenza.

I don't know why but I am always so intrigued by the small spaces in a home.  I love this little powder room.

Fun kitchen with an awesome backsplash.

Her blog is full of great ideas and her great sense of humor. Check it out!

Spring Fever

Last week was spent slaving over homework and getting ready for my Portfolio presentation.  So this last weekend I was itching to do something crafty. I went to the craft store and bought a few supplies.  I had many ideas in mind. I was able to complete two of my projects, one is still in the works and one of them failed miserably.  It's always a gamble if my projects are going to turn out as planned.

I made that lovely spring banner using this tutorial.  It was so fun.

I also saw this idea of using Glue Dots to jazz up a boring mirror.

{Don't mind my ugliness}

The 7$ Ikea mirror Before...

... and after!

It gives it this kind of effect:

I didn't read the whole post though because it turns out the blogger used glass pebbles on her mirror. I just used the glue dots but I think it still turned out nicely with just my glue dots. I just can't walk too close to it or I will get stuck!

Somerset Bay

I am so in love with the furniture of Somerset Bay carried by Alice Lane Home Collection.

It makes me want to paint all my furniture. And even if you are a little scared of color you could just paint the inside, like this armoire.  A pop of orange, what a wonderful surprise.

You can see more of their items on the Alice Lane Facebook page.
