FAQ

I have been getting a lot of emails lately about getting my degree in Interior Design.  I figured instead of sending out multiple emails I would just answer all your questions at once . So if you have any questions about school, design or anything else let me know.

Go here to find my formspring and ask away!

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Saw this here.  You can buy it here.  It's on sale and an incredible deal.

& I have been eyeing this sunburst mirror from Pier 1, also on sale.

Feature Friday: Suzanne's Attic

Gotta love the gnome stealers.

My friend Suzanne is a designer at Alice Lane. Her and her husband live in the sweetest little attic above her mom's home.  It is full of quirk and charm, just like Suzanne herself.

Her little living room. She made that table out of an old window!

Cutest little slipper chair.

I love all her vintage-inspired bedding.  The coverlet is amazing.

Her little blue kitchen is adorable.

Her office is in a little nook and features a place to sketch, read and put her feet up on that adorable flower ottoman.

Spotted

I want.

Trellis Pelmet Shade

Remember when I turned into a crazy person and made my own trellis fabric?   I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  (The farther away you are the better it looks.)

{please excuse my horrible photography skills.  It is nearly impossible for me to take a picture of my window and not have it turn out dark.}
`
I used Jenny's tutorials to make the pelmet and the roman shade underneath.  I trimmed the pelmet with blue ribbon.  It makes it look finished and much better.  The roman shade is just white. I might add some navy ribbon down the sides.

So there you have it.  I made an Imperial Trellis shade using freezer paper, spray paint, white fabric, foam core and duck tape.

A Place for Your Feet

I think an upholstered ottoman is a great alternative to a cocktail table.  It's a place to rest your feet and a tray allows your ottoman to stay functional for drinks or books.

Happiness in my Mail Box

Look what just arrived in my mailbox last weekend!

I ordered two samples of Celerie Kembles' beautiful fabric for a school project and it just arrived in the mail.  My "hot house" sample was much bigger than I had expected.  I almost want to make a pillow with it.  But alas I must cut it up and wrap it around foam core. Isn't it beautiful though.

Have you seen Caitlin Wilson's blog.  I've been following it for awhile now and I'm so glad she will be updating more with great designs and ideas. I have always just adored this room she did using Celerie's fabric.

Etsy Ruffles Roundup

My husband hates them but I love them.  I think anything with ruffles becomes instantly lovely.

Dwell Studio Pillows

Have you seen the new Dwell pillows for Target. Love them!  Caitlin featured the amazing chevron one on her blog.  It is so beautiful front and back!

I was in Target a couple of days ago and could not resist this yellow Rosette pillow.  It is now on my sofa reminding me that Spring is on it's way.

q.a. Design

Don't you love my new blog header!!  I've felt a blog makeover was needed for awhile now but the task seemed too daunting to undertake.  I immediately thought of my friend Jenna who can whip up the most perfect and creative designs.

Here are some examples of her work:

She is seriously amazing to work with.  She is fast, reliable and will make sure you are 100% happy with the end result.   She can do anything your little heart desires.   My blog was a pain to deal with but she worked her magic with the HTML to get it just right.

Her prices are great and the outcome will be better than you imagined.  Check out her site to see more and don't forget to grab my new button!
