A Little Table

These new side tables can be found in our living room. They are slightly lower than I would have liked but I think with some tall lamps I can make them work.

And for only $7.99 a piece I am able to save some money for our much needed love-seat.

You can buy them in multiple different colors or you can DIY them into something a little more exciting.

Make your table into a shadow box. See the how-to here.

Here is a fun idea of using bamboo veneer flowers.

A few books and a pice of glass is a good way to make these tables appear a little higher.

Enchanted Forest

For my auto cad class we were asked to design a room for Make-a-Wish. The room is for a real client. The little girl's name is Hope and she wanted a fairy/teenager room. The task was slightly difficult. I wanted to create a room with "wow" factor but at the same time a room that would have pieces she could have her whole life. Things she would love now but not grow out of 5 or 10 years from now.

I created an "Enchanted Forest" look by using tree wall decals and green pom poms hanging from the ceiling.

We presented our projects to Make-a-Wish yesterday. Everyone did a great job and I think this little girl is going to end up with an incredible room.

If Walls Could Talk

So I have a big empty space in my kitchen just waiting for something large and fantastic. It is actually one of the first things you see when you walk in the house so it has to be awesome.

I have three ideas right now for this space.

#1 A plate wall. I see this as being my most expensive option considering I own no plates for this collection. I'd have to start from scratch. Here are some inspiration pictures:

#2 Some sort of chalkboard framed. I really like this option but I HATE writing on chalkboards. Just thinking about it makes me cringe. And although they do make dry-erase board paint I just don't think it has the same effect.

#3 I would do some sort of photo collage. This would be fun and give me a chance to change it up a bit with new pictures.

What do you think? Vote for your choice on the poll on my sidebar. If you think of any other awesome idea for a blank wall in a kitchen let me know.

Making Plans

I have been searching the internet for inspiration pictures for our new home. I have many projects that will be underway. So many in fact that it is a bit overwhelming. I am going to take it one at a time. The truth is with me there is never really an end to decorating.

Here are some pictures I am drawing inspiration from:

If it were up to me I would definitely make pink my accent color. I don't think it would work with my husband though. Maybe I can sneak it in somewhere.

So I know this is a bedroom but these colors are the scheme I want in my living room. Brown, red, teal or turquoise, white and throw in some navy.

I like the bamboo table. I am hoping to find some bamboo accent and spray paint it a funky color.

I love the colors and textures in this room. The wall color is my favorite. Josh won't let me paint the walls blue though.

Cool garden stool and floor cushions.

I love blue and red together. I also admire that bright white coffee table. I'm thinking of having white end tables.

I dearly wish I could have a coffee table like this one. I do have a sofa kind of like that. Wish mine had those cool legs.

The trellis ottoman is amazing.

We'll see if I can get my living room to look half as amazing as these pictures.
